Job summary

RBH Hospitality Management is hiring a Night Supervisor for Mercure Paignton and ibis Styles Paignton on the English Riviera. You will lead the night team, ensure guest service excellence, and safeguard the hotels during overnight hours.

Reporting to the Night Manager, you will manage late arrivals, respond to incidents with calm judgement, support night audit tasks and help with breakfast preparation as needed. Weekend and bank holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience within hotel nights or front office.
• At least one year of customer-facing experience.
• Confident in guiding a team and making decisions.
• Calm, practical approach to guest concerns.
• Experience handling cash and basic numeracy.
• Comfort with hotel front office software.
• Ability to organise workload with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to cover nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the night shift, support colleagues and ensure consistent service.
• Welcome guests, manage check-ins/outs, respond to requests overnight.
• Perform and record safety and security checks.
• Act as Duty Manager when required and respond to incidents.
• Support night audit processes and handle guest payments.
• Assist with F&B service, room service, cleaning and breakfast prep as needed.
• Prepare meeting spaces and day-1 information.
• Support training of Night Team Members and provide good handover.

A day in the life of a Night Supervisor While most of our guests are sleeping, you will be making sure everything runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the night shift, supporting colleagues and providing guidance to ensure a consistent standard of service.
• Welcoming guests, completing check ins and check outs, and responding to requests or concerns throughout the night.
• Carrying out and recording regular safety and security checks across the hotels.
• Taking responsibility as Duty Manager when required, responding calmly and promptly to incidents and emergencies.
• Supporting night audit procedures, processing payments and ensuring guest accounts and financial records are accurate.
• Assisting with food and beverage service, room service, cleaning and breakfast preparation as required.
• Preparing meeting spaces, arrival information and group documentation for the following day.
• Supporting the training of Night Team Members and setting a positive example.
• Providing a clear handover so the day team have the information they need.

What we need from you

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that great guest service matters at every hour. You will bring

• Previous supervisory experience within hotel nights or front office.
• At least one year of experience in a customer facing role.
• Confidence in guiding a team, communicating clearly and making decisions.
• A calm, practical approach to guest concerns and unexpected situations.
• Experience of cash handling, good numeracy and attention to detail.
• Confidence using computers and hotel front office systems.
• The ability to organise your workload, prioritise tasks and work without close supervision.
• A flexible approach and willingness to support different areas of the hotels.
• Availability to work night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
