Job summary

Distinct Consultancy is seeking an Engineering Shift Manager for Night shifts in a busy manufacturing environment. You will lead the engineering team on shift, prioritise maintenance, and ensure KPIs are achieved while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires an engineering apprenticeship with strong leadership experience, preferably electrical bias, and a proven track record of coaching and developing teams. IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in a manufacturing/production setting.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles.
• Sound H&S awareness and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engineering workload and ensure business requirements are met.
• Lead, motivate, coach and develop the engineering team.
• Prioritise reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
• Act as escalation point and make decisions under pressure.
• Ensure engineering KPIs and performance targets are achieved.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
