Job summary

CLdN Ports Killingholme is seeking a Night Workshop Team Leader to head the night shift engineering team, ensuring all port plant and equipment are maintained to high standards and compliant with legal specifications.

You will plan workload, carry out inspections and repairs, and hand over to the day shift, while coordinating with terminal managers to minimise disruption and maintain operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in mechanical, plant or vehicle engineering.
• Proven experience with heavy plant and machinery such as forklifts, reach stackers, RoRo tractors or RTGs.
• Strong supervisory or team leader experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of health & safety legislation and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the night shift engineering team and maintain port plant and equipment.
• Plan workload and ensure maximum equipment availability for the day shift.
• Carry out planned inspections, repairs and safe handovers between shifts.
• Liaise with Terminal Managers to minimise disruption to operations.
• Ensure paperwork and parts planning are accurate using company systems.
• Perform H&S inspections and ensure Safe Systems of Work are followed.
• Support training of Engineering apprentices and undertake development courses.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
