Job summary

OA Group is recruiting a Night Shift Warehouse Team Leader in Watford to oversee a busy warehouse operation. You will lead a team, allocate workloads and ensure safety, accuracy and efficiency on a permanent basis.

Location: Watford. Hours: Mon-Fri 19:00–04:00, 40 hours per week. Salary: £35,000 per annum. The role requires turning plans into results while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, logistics or distribution experience is essential.
• Experience leading or supervising a team within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience in a KPI-driven environment.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Understanding of MHRA regulations, GDP requirements and Health & Safety standards.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Able to stay calm under pressure and prioritise effectively.
• Good Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of KNAPP and warehouse automation is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
• Positive, professional and approachable with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support warehouse employees to achieve operational targets.
• Take responsibility for day-to-day performance of the team.
• Allocate work according to workload and priorities.
• Prioritise activities to meet time-critical orders.
• Monitor workflow, productivity, quality, attendance and KPIs.
• Ensure picking, packing, assembly, replenishment and dispatch are accurate.
• Support planning and resource allocation with management.
• Conduct regular team briefings and ensure effective communication.
• Complete accurate shift handovers on operational data.
• Monitor performance and provide coaching and feedback.
• Assist with induction, onboarding and training of new staff.
• Promote cross-training and development within the team.
• Support attendance, performance discussions and return-to-work meetings.
• Ensure activities comply with MHRA, GDP, procedures and Health & Safety standards.
• Promote health and safety culture and challenge unsafe practices.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Support stock movements and ensure WMS transactions are timely.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and issues.
• Identify and report operational issues proactively.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Inventory, IT, Transport and Maintenance.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and service levels.
• Lead continuous improvement and warehouse best practices.
• Lead by example with teamwork and accountability.
• Carry out other duties to support the wider operation.
