Job summary

Chevron Traffic Management in Thatcham is hiring Night Shift Traffic Management Operatives and Foremen to join our expanding team. Roles include operating IPV vehicles and leading crews to ensure safe, efficient traffic management at projects across the region.

Qualifications

• Must hold LTMO 12b or 12a Traffic Management Foreman qualification and IPV qualification.
• Knowledge of Chapter 8 regulations.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points; HGV licence required.
• Must pass drug and alcohol test.
• Positive, adaptable and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and remove traffic management equipment.
• Drive and operate IPV vehicles where qualified.
• Lead or support a crew to deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Set up and manage lane closures, road closures, and diversion routes.
• Conduct site checks in line with Chapter 8 regulations.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Complete traffic counts, reports and near-miss documentation.
• Ensure health and safety standards at all times.
• Mentor trainees and new team members.
• Assist supervisors to ensure timely project delivery.

Your role across our Traffic Management Team

Whether you join us as an Operative, Foreman, or IPV Foreman/Operative, you’ll play a key role in keeping roads safe and projects running smoothly.

Your Responsibilities May Include

• Installing, maintaining, and removing traffic management equipment (cones, signs, barriers, and lights)
• Driving and operating IPV vehicles where qualified
• Leading or supporting a crew to ensure all work is delivered safely and efficiently
• Setting up and managing lane closures, road closures, and diversion routes
• Carrying out site checks in line with Chapter 8 regulations
• Communicating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Completing traffic counts, reports, and near-miss documentation
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards at all times
• Supporting and mentoring trainees and new team members
• Assisting supervisors and managers to ensure projects are delivered on time

What are we looking for?

Essential

• Qualifications: 12b LTMO or 12a Traffic Management Foreman qualification and IPV qualification
• Knowledge: Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations
• Driving Licence: Full licence with no more than 6 points. Any driving bans must have expired at least 5 years ago, plus an HGV licence
• Testing: Must pass a drug and alcohol test (offer contingent on results)
• Attitude: Positive, “can-do” mindset
• Skills: Adaptability, flexibility, and meticulous attention to detail
