Job summary

Chevron TM, part of Ramudden Global UK, is seeking a Traffic Management Operative (Qualified) in Colchester. You will operate near moving traffic and follow strict safety procedures in a physically demanding role.

Applicants with M1/M2 Lantra qualifications or above are encouraged, with company van provided for qualified operatives, flexible hours including weekends, and opportunities for progression through our Internal Academy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge: familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations is preferred.
• Driving licence: Full licence with no more than 6 points and no bans active in the past 5 years.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol test (contingent on results).
• Attitude: positive, can-do mindset; reliable and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and remove temporary traffic management.
• Set up cones, signs, barriers and safety equipment.
• Keep roadworkers and the public safe at all times.
• Communicate with colleagues, clients and control teams.

Hours: Guaranteed 48 HPW plus OT opportunities; must be flexible to work weekends!

Day shifts are typical, but flexibility is key — you’ll need to be open to evenings, nights, weekends, working away during peak periods, and joining the on‑call rota, especially if you have access to a company van.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We Are Looking For

• Knowledge: Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations.
• Driving Licence: Full licence with no more than 6 points. Any driving bans must have expired at least 5 years ago.
• Testing: Must pass a drug and alcohol test (offer contingent on results).
• Attitude: Positive, “can-do” mindset.
• Skills: Adaptability, flexibility, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Flexibility: Able to work weekends, nights and work away, if and when required.
• Mentor New Trainees: Share your knowledge and guide new team members as they learn the ropes.

• Qualifications: M1 M2, M3 M4 M5 M6 (SLG Unit 2 will be considered)
• Traffic Management Training is subject to signing a training agreement.
