Job summary

Orwell Housing Association is seeking a Relief Concierge (Night Worker) at Christchurch House, Ipswich. The role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment for young people who are homeless or at risk, with overnight duties and building safety checks.

You will work as part of the Young People’s Supported Housing Service, promoting independence and wellbeing while providing compassionate, confidential support and clear boundaries.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, approachable and committed to supporting young people.
• Ability to build positive relationships and communicate confidently and respectfully.
• Remains calm when managing challenging situations and can help de-escalate conflict.
• Understands safeguarding, health and safety, and professional boundaries; comfortable working independently during night shifts while part of a team.
• Experience in customer-facing, support, housing, security or concierge roles, or transferable skills.

• Carry out building safety checks and respond to concerns.
