Job summary

Orwell Housing Association is seeking a Relief Concierge (Night Worker) for our Christchurch House site in Ipswich. You will be the reassuring, on-site presence during the night, ensuring a safe environment for young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

You will perform building safety checks, respond to concerns, and work with colleagues to promote independence and wellbeing. The role suits someone calm, compassionate and experienced in customer-facing or housing support

Qualifications

• Compassionate, approachable, and committed to supporting young people.
• Confident in building positive relationships and communicating respectfully.
• Calm under pressure with ability to de-escalate conflict.
• Understands safeguarding, health and safety, and professional boundaries.
• Comfortable working night shifts independently while being part of a team.
• Experience in customer-facing, support, housing, security, or concierge roles.

• Carry out building safety checks and maintain security.
• Respond to concerns and incidents during night shifts.
• Maintain accurate records and complete shift handovers.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies to provide a high-quality service.
