Job summary

Orwell Housing Association in Ipswich is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for Christchurch House to help young people build confidence and independence. You will support, advocate and co-create personalised plans addressing education, training, employment and health needs with a compassionate, collaborative team.

You will work in a safe, inclusive environment, giving young people a voice and ensuring safeguarding is at the core of every interaction. DBS checks are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people in a professional, voluntary or customer-focused environment.
• Able to remain calm and supportive when facing challenges.
• Understanding safeguarding, inclusion and promoting independence.
• Values teamwork and open communication.

Responsibilities

• Support young people who are homeless or at risk to develop confidence and independence.
• Help develop personalised support plans focused on education, training, employment and health.
• Build trusting relationships and advocate for young people's voices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partner organisations to create safe environments.
