Job summary

Princes Group in Wisbech is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer for a permanent night shift (4 on 4 off) to ensure effective and efficient maintenance of the FMCG plant. You will respond to breakdowns, carry out planned maintenance and calibrations, and document all actions until completion.

You will move the maintenance approach from reactive firefighting to proactive improvement, identify root causes, and uphold GMP standards while coaching the team and communicating across functions.

Qualifications

• Nationally recognized levels of competence in maintenance of FMCG machinery.
• General understanding of PLC control systems as used within Princes equipment.
• Electrical competence in safe diagnosis and repair of faults within motors, control systems and lighting.
• Computer literate (SAP, Microsoft packages).
• Work within a CI environment.
• 18th Edition IEE Regulation qualification.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Timely response to plant breakdowns, planned maintenance and calibrations, all owned until complete.
• All work formally recorded and handed over as required.
• Ensure proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns on site to maintain production continuity.
• Move maintenance strategy from breakdown focus to proactive improvement.
• Identify root causes and update the Planned Maintenance system.
• Support and coach development of the Engineering, Operators & Team Leaders.
• Share knowledge within the team to increase department flexibility.
• Drive improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and with external partners.
