Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time night shift at Bethesda Southgate. The role provides basic nursing care, assessments, and care planning within a geriatric setting.

The ideal candidate holds an LPN license, CPR/AED and IV certifications (or willingness to obtain within 6 months), and has strong communication and time-management skills. Experience in long-term care is preferred; ability to lift and move patients, document accurately, and work

Qualifications

• Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Current LPN license in the state you will be working
• CPR and AED certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment
• IV certification required, or willing to obtain within six months of employment
• Long-term care experience preferred
• Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
• Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
• Time management and organizational skills required
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
• Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbsusing proper techniques and with assistance whennecessary
• Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment
• Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color
• Ability to physically perform necessary documentation electronically and in writing

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care by assisting in the assessment of the resident on admission and on an ongoing basis
• Communicates changes in resident condition to the interdisciplinary team
• Documents assessments accurately and timely
• Participates in care planning and updates the plan of care as interventions change
• Ensures nursing interventions and medications are delivered safely and timely
• Maintains documentation electronically and on paper as needed
