Job summary

FedEx is recruiting a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician for the Bradford Vehicle Maintenance Unit. You will maintain safety and reliability of the fleet, perform service, inspections and repairs, and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules across a 40-hour week.

The role operates on a night shift 22:00–06:30 with base pay of £21.70/hour plus night premiums. Diversity and inclusion are emphasised throughout FedEx’s culture and opportunities for growth are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with LGV C&E licence and City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2.
• Knowledge of automotive testing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components.
• Welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Must possess a valid driving license and have experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Completion of signed service and inspection records.
• Completion of defect reports and regulatory paperwork.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to achieve first-time pass.
• Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects.
• Ensure safe use of all tools and equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping and perform other duties as required by management.
