Job summary

FedEx is seeking a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician for our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Rotherham. You will service and maintain our fleet to ensure safety, legality and reliability, following planned maintenance schedules.

The role is 40 hours per week with rotating mornings and afternoons. Bases pay is £21.70/hour with overtime premia (£2.33 7pm-10pm, £2.82 10pm-6am). You will perform inspections, MOT prep, and repairs to keep vehicles road-ready.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with LGV C&E licence and City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
• Experience with welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components.

Responsibilities

• Complete service and inspection records as required.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to achieve 1st time pass.
• Carry out ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects.
• Ensure safe use of tools and equipment; maintain housekeeping.
• Fulfill other duties deemed reasonable by management.
