Job summary

FedEx is seeking a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician for our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Bradford. You will service and maintain the fleet to ensure safety, legality and reliability, with a 40-hour week and nights shift 22:00–06:30.

You will complete service records, prepare for MOT testing, and perform repairs while adhering to health and safety rules. A valid LGV license and City & Guilds qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with LGV C&E licence and City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
• Experience with automotive testing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components.
• Welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete service and inspection records.
• Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing to first-time pass standards.
• Carry out ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects.
• Maintain safe use of tools and PPE; keep area clean.
