Job summary

FedEx is seeking a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician for our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Thetford. You will maintain the FedEx fleet to ensure safety, legality and reliability, with a 40-hour week and enhanced pay for night-time shifts.

The role requires LGV C&E licence, City & Guilds parts 1 & 2, and experience with vehicle testing and welding. A valid driving license is essential, and previous similar experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence).
• City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete signed service and inspection records.
• Complete defect reports and paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
• Prepare vehicles/trailers for annual MOT testing (1st-time pass).
• Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects.
• Ensure safe use of tools, plant and equipment; maintain housekeeping.
• Carry out other duties as deemed by Management.
