Job summary

Focal Systems in Kent, UK, is seeking a Field Service Technician (Installations) for a fixed-term contract (6 months), averaging 20 hours per week. The role involves overnight travel to customer sites to install, deploy and adopt our retail OS hardware and software solutions.

You will install cameras, diagnose issues, and ensure installations meet KPIs and customer SLAs, with a requirement for a valid UK driving licence and ability to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven Field Service Technician Experience: Previous experience in a field technician role.
• Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
• Physical stamina to work up to 9 hours.
• Detail-oriented with high quality standards.
• Time management to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication with supervisors, team members and customers.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to sites.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install camera hardware: mounting, connecting and configuring per company standards.
• Respond promptly to installation requests and ensure customer SLAs are met.
• Maintain records of installation activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Onboard/scanning products into the system.
• Operate power tools safely to complete installations.
• Adhere to safety protocols during installation visits.
• Work with the team to complete installations on time.
• Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards.
• Meet or exceed KPIs for speed and quality.
• Communicate progress and issues with supervisors.
