Job summary

Orange Monkey Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader for a busy food-packing site near March, Cambridgeshire. The role offers a salary of up to £62,000 and a permanent nights contract with a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, 6pm–6am.

You will lead from the front, organise maintenance priorities, and drive engineering performance on shift. You'll manage a small team on nights, stay hands-on with electrical and mechanical maintenance, and collaborate with production to minimise

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience in food, FMCG, packaging or manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory or senior engineering experience.
• Strong fault-finding and breakdown experience.
• Ability to organise maintenance activity and set priorities.
• Hands-on leadership approach.
• Ability to make decisions and own the night shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support one Maintenance Engineer.
• Prioritise breakdowns and planned maintenance.
• Remain hands-on with electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Minimise downtime across production and packing lines.
• Organise PPMs and ensure engineering work is completed properly.
• Work closely with production to manage engineering priorities.
• Support improvements to equipment reliability and site performance.
• Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and engineering documentation.
