Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group is recruiting an Engineering Team Leader for the poultry-processing night shift. You will lead the on-site engineering team, perform hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable operation with minimal disruption.

The role requires time-served multi-skilled engineers with strong fault-finding ability and a track record in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Night shifts are 12 hours (4 on/4 off), with opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Time-served, multi-skilled engineers with strong mechanical and electrical capability and a recognised apprenticeship, qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; food or poultry manufacturing experience advantageous.
• Previous supervisory, acting team leader or senior engineer experience, or readiness to progress into leadership.
• Confident fault-finders who stay calm, practical and decisive under pressure.
• Ability to take ownership, lead by example and communicate clear expectations to engineers and senior stakeholders.
• Able to work permanent nights on a 12-hour, 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer and senior engineering presence on shift, setting standards and priorities.
• Carry out hands-on mechanical and electrical fault-finding, repairs and maintenance across site equipment and production machinery.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, coordinate the engineering response and restore safe operation with minimal disruption.
• Report, escalate and follow through on breakdowns, technical issues and risks.
• Support and develop engineers on shift, providing practical direction and leadership.
• Maintain high standards of engineering discipline, safety, food safety and housekeeping.
• Communicate with Operations and senior stakeholders on shift performance, priorities and risks.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and continuous improvement to increase equipment reliability.
