Job summary

Arriva London is seeking a Night Shift Bus Mechanic / PSV Technician to keep our bus fleet safe and dependable. You’ll perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, tackling varied challenges alongside skilled engineers.

Your hands-on experience with heavy vehicles and diagnostic tools will help diagnose faults, complete inspections and minimize downtime, ensuring buses are ready for service each night.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering or vehicle maintenance qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience as a Bus Mechanic, PSV Technician, HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic skills and a practical approach to solving problems.
• Confidence using workshop equipment and diagnostic tools.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A commitment to quality workmanship, vehicle safety and reliable service.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs across our bus fleet.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and your technical knowledge.
• Completing vehicle inspections and safety checks to meet company standards and relevant requirements.
• Investigating recurring faults and helping reduce vehicle downtime.
• Working with the engineering and operations teams to ensure buses are ready for service.
• Keeping accurate records of repairs, maintenance and parts used.
• Sharing your expertise with colleagues and supporting less experienced team members.
• Maintaining a safe, organised working environment.
