Arriva London North Limited is seeking a skilled PSV Mechanic to join our engineering team. The role covers inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of a diverse PSV fleet to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs across engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems, and prepare vehicles for DVSA roadworthiness tests. The position requires working shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Proven PSV Mechanic experience, preferably in bus/coach environments.
• Valid UK Driving Licence, ideally Category D (PCV), or willing to obtain.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across vehicle systems.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and servicing on PSVs per plan.
• Diagnose and rectify faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Repair/replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical components.
• Carry out pre-MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for annual DVSA roadworthiness tests.
• Document work, parts used, time taken, and defects in company systems.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist with breakdown recovery and roadside support when needed.
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop and pursue ongoing training.
