Job summary

Arriva London North Limited seeks a skilled PSV Mechanic to join our engineering team in London. You will inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair a diverse fleet of PSVs to ensure safe, reliable operation in line with company standards.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and proven PSV experience, with a valid UK driving licence (PCV entitlement preferred). You will work across varied shifts, contribute to roadworthiness tests, and document work thoroughly.

Qualifications

• Proven PSV mechanic experience and relevantNVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding abilities across vehicle systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on PSVs, including buses and coaches.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults with diagnostic equipment and manuals.
• Repair and replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Prepare vehicles for annual DVSA roadworthiness tests and ensure DVSA standards compliance.
• Document all work accurately in company systems with parts used and time taken.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies in all tasks.
• Assist with breakdown recovery and roadside assistance as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized workshop environment and manage tools and equipment.
• Pursue ongoing technical development and stay updated with industry advancements.
