Job summary

Dovehaven Grove is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for night shifts in Bamber Bridge, Preston. You will lead a small team, deliver person-centred care, and ensure high standards across the night shift.

You’ll supervise colleagues, complete handovers, and support residents’ daily needs while maintaining a calm, compassionate environment. Alternative weekends and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in elderly care settings.
• Supervisory experience within a care or nursing home.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care essential.

Responsibilities

• Delivering personal care with dignity and compassion.
• Supporting residents’ emotional wellbeing and independence.
• Managing and supporting the care team during your shift.
• Supervising and supporting less experienced staff.
• Ensuring care staff adhere to CQC guidelines and best practices.
• Promoting high standards of care throughout the home.
• Working closely with colleagues to maintain a safe environment.
• Accurately completing care documentation and handovers.
• Taking responsibility and using initiative when required.
• Supporting elderly residents with their daily care needs.
