Job summary

The Worcester Whitehouse Hotel is seeking a reliable part-time Night Porter to support the hotel’s night operations, ensuring guest safety, security, and a clean, welcoming environment throughout the night.

Shift pattern is 15 hours per week, two nights per week from 11.00pm to 7.00am, including weekends and bank holidays. The role offers pension, staff discounts on stays and F&B, incremental holiday entitlement and other employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as a hotel night porter or similar role preferred.
• Ability to respond to guest requests and incidents during night hours.
• Maintain security, safety, and cleanliness of public areas.

Responsibilities

• Patrol public areas and hotel premises during night hours.
• Respond to guest requests, emergencies, or incidents.
• Assist late check-ins and early check-outs.
• Perform cleaning duties in public areas (lobby, corridors, restrooms).
• Monitor CCTV and alarms, coordinate with other departments.
• Maintain logs of night activities and incidents.

The Worcester Whitehouse Hotel is a 4 star, 84 bedroom hotel right in the heart of the historic city centre of Worcester. Built in the 16th century, this classic townhouse hotel is adjacent to Foregate Street train station and a short walk to many local attractions including the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum, The hotel is perfectly located for both leisure and business guests, offering great conference and event facilities for up to 120 delegates, wedding facilities and a leisure club.

We are seeking a reliable and proactive part timeNight Porter to support the hotel’s night operations, ensuring guest safety, security, and a clean, welcoming environment throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol public areas and hotel premises to maintain security and safety during night hours
• Respond promptly to guest requests, emergencies, or incidents during the night shift
• Assist with late check-ins and early check-outs, providing efficient guest service
• Perform cleaning duties in public areas including lobby, corridors, restrooms, and entrances
• Monitor and operate security systems, alarms, and CCTV cameras as required
• Handle luggage storage and transportation for arriving and departing guests
• Maintain clear and accurate logs of night activities and incidents
• Support emergency procedures and fire safety protocols as needed
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless handovers and communication

Shifts:

• 15 hours per week
• Working 2 nights per week from 11.00pm - 7.00am over 7 nights
• 30 minute break per shift
• Includes weekends and bank holidays
