Job summary

Miller & Carter in the United Kingdom is seeking a Night Porter to welcome guests, manage late check-ins, maintain front‑of‑house areas and ensure safety during overnight hours. You'll work overnight shifts (typically 11pm–7am on site), be the first contact for late arrivals and guest inquiries, and help with cleaning and setup tasks while upholding high standards of service and security.

DBS check may be required as part of recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Provide a warm, friendly welcome to guests.

• Ensure guest and business safety and security at all times.
• Evacuate guests and staff safely in case of fire.
• Answer phone enquiries and handle guest complaints to ensure a pleasant stay.

This is an overnight position, with shifts typically ranging from 11pm to 7am (depending on the site).

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE:

• Be the first point of contact when checking in late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Ensure a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to all guests.
• The role is varied and, depending on your site, may include: cleaning tasks within the front of house, external and breakfast areas, setting up the meeting room(s) and breakfast for the next day
• You’ll ensure guest and business safety and security is top priority at all times.
• In the event of a fire, evacuating all guests and team from the business safely and quickly
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints to ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
