Job summary

Centra Court Hotel, part of the Celtic Collection, is seeking a Night Porter to join the Front Office team in Newport. The role is permanent with 37.5 hours per week and a pay rate of £12.98 per hour. You will deliver a warm welcome and assist guests overnight, maintaining safety and hotel presentation.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training is provided. A proactive, guest‑focused mindset and strong communication are key for success on night shifts.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable personality with a passion for hospitality.
• Proactive attitude and ability to work independently during night shifts.
• Good communication skills and willingness to go the extra mile for guests.
• Knowledge of the local area and attractions is a plus.
• Previous experience desirable but not essential; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests arriving or departing during the night.
• Assisting with guest requests including room service, luggage handling, and general enquiries.
• Conducting floor walks, fire safety checks, and maintaining cleanliness of public areas.
• Supporting the Night Manager with operational duties and ensuring the hotel remains secure overnight.
• Completing the night porter checklist and keeping meeting spaces and storerooms tidy.
