Job summary

The Lamb in Hindon, a 12th-century coaching inn with 18 boutique bedrooms, is seeking a Night Porter to join our welcoming team. We are a dog-friendly pub and hotel that hosts shooting parties and offers a warm, community atmosphere.

You will deliver excellent customer service, greet guests, check in late arrivals, and maintain room standards. You will also perform safety checks, clean the pub, and assist with breakfast setup on the morning shift.

Qualifications

• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Friendly, outgoing personality and self-motivated.
• Experience in a similar environment is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guest safety and attend to guests during night hours.
• Welcome guests, greet and check in late arrivals.
• Maintain room standards and assist with morning breakfast setup.
• Carry out health and safety checks and audits as required.
• Clean the pub and assist with nightly duties.
• Support operations during the night shift as needed.

The Lamb, a 12th-century coaching inn with 18 beautiful boutique bedrooms in an idyllic setting in the postcard village of Hindon.
We’re a fun team and we’re passionate about customers and our four-legged friends! We’re a massively dog-friendly pub and hotel and look after a lot of shooting parties during the shooting season!
The Lamb is a favourite with the locals, offering everything from a pint of real ale to cocktails on our garden terrace, three-course dinners in the restaurant to delicious Sunday roasts!

What we look for in a Night Porter:

As the successful Night Porter you will have a passion to deliver exceptional customer service every time, with a friendly outgoing personality, be self-motivated and willing to work alone at times. You will have experience working in a similar environment, have excellent communication skills and an impeccable eye for detail.

Our Night Porters play an important role in ensuring the safety of our guests and the security of our pub and hotel throughout the night. You will be responsible for dealing with any guest requests, greeting and checking in late arrivals and maintaining room standards. As Night Porter you will clean the pub, set up for breakfast service and carry out any health and safety checks and audits as necessary.
