Job summary

Crerar Hotels is seeking a dedicated Night Porter to oversee the night desk and ensure safety and smooth operations from 11pm to 7am at our hotels in Scotland and the Lake District.

You will set up function rooms, assist guests during the night, and may support other teams. Previous night experience in hospitality is preferred, and a commitment to excellent service will shine through in every guest interaction.

• Previous night hotel experience is preferred.
• Excellent customer service and a professional appearance.
• Ability to manage security procedures and end-of-shift routines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the night desk from 11pm to 7am to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist guests with night-time needs and requests.
• Set up function rooms for events and store furniture/equipment.
• Follow end-of-day procedures and maintain high security standards.
• Support cleaning, bar, and reception teams as required and act as duty manager if needed.
• Produce audit reports and interact with guests to exceed expectations.

This full-time role, which includes weekend shifts, covers a range of duties, including overseeing security, setting up function rooms for events, storing furniture and equipment, and following end-of-day procedures. You will also assist with guests' food and beverage needs throughout the night. With your attention to detail, you’ll produce audit reports and ensure high security standards are maintained. Personable and engaging, you will interact with guests to exceed their expectations and may be asked to assist the cleaning, bar, and reception teams or act as duty manager when required. Previous night experience in a hotel is preferred, and your commitment to customer service will make a significant impact on the guest experience during the night shift.
