Job summary

The Hoste Arms, part of Young's Pubs, is seeking a Weekend Night Porter to support overnight guest services in Burnham Market. You will be the friendly, vigilant presence ensuring safety and smooth night operations for guests in a historic pub, restaurant, hotel and spa setting.

Hours are typically Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm to 8am, with potential midweek cover. Candidates should have fluent English, strong guest service skills and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English, strong communication skills.
• Experience in a similar hospitality environment.
• Attention to detail and guest service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, handle late arrivals, and manage check-ins during night hours.
• Set up for breakfast service and serve residents at the bar until 12pm.
• Assist with cellar upkeep and carry out health and safety checks/audits as required.

What we look for in a Night Porter:

As the successful Weekend Night Porter you will have a passion to deliver exceptional customer service every time, with a friendly outgoing personality, be self-motivated and willing to work alone at times. You will have experience working in a similar environment, have excellent communication skills and an impeccable eye for detail.

Our Night Porters play an important role in ensuring the safety of our guests and the security of our pub and hotel throughout the night. You will be responsible for dealing with any guest requests, greeting and checking in late arrivals and maintaining room standards. As Night Porter you will also set up for breakfast service, provide residents bar service (until 12pm), assist with cellar upkeep and carry out any health and safety checks & audits as necessary. Expected hours are generally Friday & Saturday evenings from 10pm through until 8am in a normal week. You may be required to help with midweek holiday cover throughout the year if possible.
