Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is hiring a Warehouse Shift Manager in Harworth to support the Operations Manager in daily warehouse operations. You will ensure health & safety standards are met and drive pick/dispatch to KPI targets, with 4 on 4 off night shifts (18:00-06:00).

We seek a candidate with warehouse leadership experience, strong team motivation, and a solid grasp of H&S and quality controls. Prior 3PL exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse operational experience.
• Experience of managing, supporting and motivating a large team.
• Proven experience of all aspects of people management including probationary, attendance, performance and disciplinary matters.
• Experience of managing teams and prioritising a tight and challenging workload.
• Knowledge and experience of safe working practice inclusive of all Health and Safety elements.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Good IT skills, Microsoft packages and WMS.
• Previous 3PL experience is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and motivate the shift team to ensure productivity and service KPI’s are achieved or exceeded.
• Ensure high levels of health, safety and hygiene and ensure required paperwork is completed and retained.
• Maintain quality and audit standards and ensure site operates to required standards.
• Deliver communications briefs so shifts are aware of company and local issues and can offer input/improvements.
• Oversee Goods Inwards to ensure receipts are quick and undamaged so stock is available for orders.
• Develop team members to maximise contribution and succession planning.
• Conduct disciplinary/grievance interviews and investigations per policy.
• Monitor sickness absence and conduct return-to-work interviews.
• Monitor and control time and attendance.
• Provide regular feedback on performance and development opportunities.
• Plan manpower, overtime and agency staffing to run shifts efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Enforce company policies and procedures; monitor training and health & safety representation on shift.
• Support management with ad-hoc duties within warehouse functions.
