Job summary

Shaw Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Night Nurse for Burleys Wood, Crawley. This fixed-term maternity cover (6 months, with possibility of extension) includes 36.75 hours weekly, 12-hour night shifts, and a 20:00–08:00 schedule with alternating weekends.

You will administer medicines, care for residents with dementia-related conditions, and work within a dynamic care team. The role requires an NMC-registered nurse with experience in elderly care.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse with current practising certificate.
• Experience in elderly care and dementia.
• Knowledge of Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health and care needs; develop care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor responses.
• Provide nursing care including wound and palliative care.
• Coordinate with other health professionals for personalised care.
• Support activities of daily living and personal care.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Maintain accurate health records.
• Follow CQC guidelines to uphold high care standards.
• Contribute to policy development and staff training.
• Induct and train new staff members.
