Job summary

Care in Mind is hiring a Mental Health Waking Night Support Worker for the Preston site. The role is part-time (22 hours per week) with night shifts 8.30pm–7.30am, including weekends and some bank holidays. Training will be provided, and DBS checks are required.

Salary is £28,808.78–£29,709.68 per year pro rata for part-time work. Based at Florida Residential Service in Ashton-on-Ribble, you will support young people aged 16–30 with mental health needs using a therapeutic approach.

Qualifications

• Good written communication and ability to write basic reports
• Basic IT skills including using an online care system and writing emails
• Verbal communication skills and ability to listen to others
• Ability to maintain professional working boundaries
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies and support others

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and complete medication administration
• Provide handovers to day staff
• Support wellbeing, education and life skills for young people
• Undertake incident management and de‑escalation of challenging behaviours
• Ensure the home is tidy and welcoming for residents
