Job summary

The Dorchester invites applications for a Night Luggage Porter in London. You will deliver, collect and store luggage to ensure a seamless guest experience and assist guests in the Lobby Area and Forecourt.

You'll drive a luxury hospitality standard, join a team of legends, and benefit from our learning academy, award-winning benefits, and staff perks available from day one.

Qualifications

• Full UK or EU driving licence required (3 years, no points).
• Excellent spoken English and communication skills.
• Problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, collect and store luggage to ensure a consistently efficient guest experience.
• Assist guests in the Lobby Area and on the Forecourt.
• Complete errands and shopping trips for guests as directed by Concierge.
• Occasional support to the Housekeeping team as needed.
• Work with Night Concierge, fellow Porters and the Doorman to maintain service standards.

What You'll Do

As Night Luggage Porter, you will love what you do and take pride in taking care of our guests:

• Your responsibilities will be to deliver, collect and store luggage to ensure a consistently efficient and outstanding guest experience
• You will also be accountable for providing assistance and support to all the guests in the Lobby Area as well as on the Forecourt
• As part of your daily responsibilities you will also have to complete errands & shopping trips on behalf of guests as directed by Concierge
• Occasional support to the Housekeeping team may be required, depending on operational needs
• To offer a high standard of service whilst working as a team, you must understand the importance of working with the Night Concierge, your fellow Porters, as well as the Doorman here at the Hotel.

The items shared are the essence of a day in the life of our Night Luggage Porter, but we will make sure you are provided with specifics on how we care for our hotel.

The operational hours of work are shift-based and may be subjected to change. These are currently set as:

• 12 hours shift patterns which are 19.30 – 07.30
• This is covered via two-week rota system covering a four-on-four-off rota

What You'll Bring

Essential Skills and Experience

• Full UK or EU Driving Licence is required as you will be responsible for parking guests' cars (holding a licence for three years with no points)
• Excellent spoken English and communication skills
• Problem Solving

• Experience in a Luxury Hotel: You have worked in a 5-star hotel or similar before
