Job summary

Greenhous DAF Birmingham is seeking a skilled, motivated and reliable Night HGV Technician to join our expanding after-hours workshop team. This role focuses on servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs to the highest standards, ensuring maximum fleet uptime.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), have HGV experience, and possess strong diagnostic skills. Night shifts are Tue–Fri, 7.00 pm to 6.30 am (46 hours/week) with a 20-minute paid break.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience working on HGVs (DAF experience advantageous but not essential).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete MOT preparations and inspections.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with DAF and DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
• Work independently during night shifts while maintaining high productivity.
