Job summary

Greenhous DAF Birmingham is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to maintain and repair heavy goods vehicles in a well-equipped workshop. You will diagnose faults, service and repair vehicles to high safety standards, ensuring inspections and MOT readiness are met.

Ideal candidates hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with strong diagnostic skills; DAF experience is advantageous. Working in alternating shifts, expect about 45 hours weekly with a negotiable salary.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience working on HGVs; DAF experience advantageous but not essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and service records.
• Work safely and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
