Job summary

Single Homeless Project in London is seeking a Night Concierge for Milton House in Islington. You will be the first point of contact during the night, managing access, responding to emergencies, and conducting essential safety checks to support residents rebuilding their lives.

You’ll work a pattern of 41 hours per week across Monday to Thursday nights, with guidance from the out-of-hours team. The role offers a welcoming, supportive environment and opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• A mature and non-judgemental attitude to working with a client group that may present challenging behaviour.
• A basic understanding of the often complex issues likely to be presented by the vulnerable people who use SHP services.
• The confidence to challenge appropriately, and the ability to use initiative and make reasoned and quick decisions within SHP’s policy and procedural framework.
• An understanding of Health and Safety at work and the likely issues to occur in a residential building.
• Good customer care skills, honesty, punctuality, integrity and ability to work alone without direct supervision.
• An ability to be self-servicing in the use of the computer to create notes and logs and to send and receive emails.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact during the night, providing practical support and a calm, reassuring presence.
• Manage access to buildings, respond to emergencies, and carry out essential safety checks.
• Work as part of a team and coordinate with out-of-hours management to ensure smooth operations.
