Job summary

The Salvation Army Housing Association (saha) is seeking a Night Concierge in Manchester to provide a waking, overnight on-site presence for 26 young men aged 18-25. The post is part-time and runs on a rota of 4 days on/4 days off from 10pm to 8am, with lone working responsibilities.

Based at The Limes in Longsight, the role focuses on safety, wellbeing and building supportive relationships with residents, in line with the organisation’s values.

Qualifications

  • High level of resilience and professionalism.
  • Knowledge or experience of working with homeless people or vulnerable groups.
  • Proactive, motivated and can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and build supportive relationships with residents in the service.
  • Explain responsibilities under Licence and Good Neighbour Agreement.
  • Respond to emergency situations and contact emergency services when required.
  • Ensure safety and security by monitoring CCTV and carrying out Health & Safety checks.
  • Report property repairs and maintenance issues and follow procedures.

Summary

We are looking for a Night Concierge worker to provide a waking, overnight on-site presence in the Service, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of 26 young men aged 18-25 years old.

You will instinctively work in a manner that aligns fully with Salvations Army Homes values and behaviours, demonstrating energy and passion, along with a positive can-do attitude in your contribution as a night concierge to transforming lives.

You will be part of a passionate and committed team dedicated to transforming lives and helping individuals achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.

What you’ll be doing
  • Engage and build supportive relationships with residents who live in the service.
  • Actively engage residents in understanding the service and their responsibilities under their Licence Agreement and Good Neighbour Agreement.
  • Responding to emergency situations and contacting the appropriate emergency services when required.
  • Ensure the safety of residents and the security of the building by monitoring CCTV, complete Health & Safety Checks & patrols.
  • Respond promptly to reports of property repairs and maintenance issues within the accommodation, following appropriate procedures.

Working Arrangements
  • Service based at The Limes, Longsight, Manchester
  • Rota based includes weekends (working 4 days on/4 days off, shift times 10pm - 8am)
  • The Night Concierge Role is a Lone Working Role
