Job summary

Novotel Southampton is seeking a Night Auditor to ensure the hotel runs smoothly through the night. This full-time role offers a salary of up to £28,125 per annum with excellent benefits and career development opportunities.

Located in central Southampton, you will oversee overnight operations, complete financial and administrative reports, assist guests with check-ins and check-outs, and hand over to the day team. Reliability and independent work are key.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality preferred but not essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and guest-focused service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive in handling night-time operational tasks.
• Comfort with standard hotel software and reporting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Night Audit process accurately and efficiently.
• Process overnight financial and administrative reports.
• Monitor safety, security and smooth hotel operation overnight.
• Assist guests with check-ins, check-outs and overnight inquiries.
• Manage overnight incidents and operational issues professionally.
• Complete handovers and communicate key information to the day team.
• Ensure all systems and reports are completed accurately.
• Support breakfast service at weekends when required.

We're looking for a reliable and customer-focused individual to join our nights team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, thrives in a responsibility-driven role and takes pride in delivering exceptional guest service.

Located in the heart of Southampton, Novotel Southampton welcomes a mix of business travellers, cruise passengers and leisure guests, making every shift varied and rewarding.

The Role

As Night Auditor, you'll be responsible for overseeing the hotel overnight, ensuring guests receive excellent service while completing essential financial, administrative and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Completing the Night Audit process accurately and efficiently
• Processing overnight financial and administrative reports
• Monitoring the safety, security and smooth operation of the hotel
• Assisting guests with check-ins, check-outs and overnight enquiries
• Managing overnight incidents and operational issues professionally
• Completing handovers and communicating key information to the day team
• Ensuring all systems, reports and procedures are completed accurately
• Maintaining high standards of guest service throughout the night
• Supporting breakfast service at weekends when required

About You

We're looking for someone who is organised, dependable and comfortable working independently.

Previous hotel or hospitality experience would be beneficial but is not essential. More importantly, you'll have a positive attitude, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good administrative and organisational abilities
• Confidence using computer systems and learning new software
• The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
