Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Telephonist to manage all incoming and outgoing calls via a Cisco Attendant Console, ensuring the switchboard is always attended. You will support ward communications, update contact directories, and liaise with on-call staff as required to maintain safe and efficient service delivery.

Flexible working requests will be considered; the role supports emergency procedures and relies on accurate data entry and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience handling inbound/outbound calls on a switchboard.
• Ability to operate a Cisco Attendant Console.
• Good communication with wards and staff.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Cisco Attendant Console to route calls and manage enquiries.
• Update directory user database when required.
• Contact on-call staff and announce incoming calls to wards.
