Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced telephonist to provide a comprehensive 24/7 switchboard and message-handling service across the health community in Cornwall. You will manage high volumes of calls and coordinate with Trust managers and departments.

The role requires excellent written and verbal communication, adaptability to rapid changes, and willingness to work in shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a telephonist is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes and work on rotas including evenings, weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive 24/7 switchboard and call-handling service for the Trust and health community.
• Support emergency lines and coordinate messages across multiple teams and services.
• Work on rotas, including weekends, bank holidays and lone working, with training provided.
