Job summary

James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a friendly Apprentice Receptionist to join the Community Diagnostic Centre team. The role involves welcoming patients, managing appointments, answering calls, and maintaining records across James Paget Hospital, Northgate Hospital and Oulton Suite.

The post requires flexibility to work across sites, weekend rota availability, and a commitment to NHS patient care and service standards.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent English and Maths; willing to work towards them during the apprenticeship.
• Experience with customer service and handling sensitive information is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide first point of contact for patients, relatives and carers.
• Operate clinic reception services including patient demographics and appointments.
• Handle telephone inquiries professionally and efficiently.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate patient records.
• Support clinical team with administrative tasks as required.
• Work across multiple sites including James Paget Hospital, Northgate Hospital and Oulton Suite.
