Job summary

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 administrator to initiate patients’ pathways into specialist services in the Neuroendocrine Tumour Department. The role involves triage, first-appointment booking, and maintaining waiting lists, alongside chasing diagnostic tests and routing referrals to the right service.

Proficiency with electronic patient and referral systems is essential, as is RSA 2 or RSA 3 typing experience.

Qualifications

• RSA 2 or RSA 3 typing or equivalent experience.
• English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and book first appointments within the relevant service.
• Use ERS, EPR and LUNA systems skilfully to manage referrals.
• Maintain waiting lists and escalate issues promptly.
• Contact GPs to redirect inappropriate referrals to the correct service.
• Record triage activity on EPR and transfer clinician comments between systems.
• Chase diagnostic tests and expedite tests with the diagnostic team.
• Work without direct supervision with confidential patient information.
• Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure smooth pathways.
