Job summary

Northgate Vehicle Hire is seeking a motivated New Business Manager to drive growth across Leeds, Huddersfield and Cumbria. You will identify opportunities, build a strong pipeline and convert prospects into lasting partnerships.

You will promote our ‘usership over ownership’ proposition, work with a central support hub, and tailor proposals to client needs, delivering measurable value for businesses in your region.

Qualifications

• B2B new business focus with proven success in generating new accounts.
• Resourceful, tenacious pipeline builder with lead-gen skills: cold calling, prospecting, door knocking.
• Ability to develop personalised, multi-product offerings and implement proposals.
• Ambassador for the brand with strong networking and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Experience in light commercial vehicle market is a plus.

Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 per annum enhanced by a fantastic commission scheme, and a car. Our New Business Managers see a realistic OTE of £70,000, top performers in this role are hitting their commission cap of £77,500 on‑top of salary.

Annual Leave - Start with 24 days, increasing to 26 days with service, plus the flexibility to buy or sell up to 5 extra days each year. Of course, you’ll have public holidays too and an extra day off to celebrate your birthday!

About You

• Firstly, you prosper in B2B new business roles with significant success in generating new accounts — this is not an account management role, you will create new opportunities through self‑sourced, decision‑maker conversations.
• You have a resourceful and tenacious approach to building your pipeline — you have a well‑developed toolkit of lead‑generation approaches and thrive putting in the hard yards researching, cold calling, prospecting, door knocking, and vehicle spotting to identify the most exciting leads.
• You understand that one size does not fit all — you can develop personalised, multi‑product/service offerings including preparing proposals and implementation documentation to deliver the perfect solution to your clients.
• You take pride in being an ambassador for your brand — as a New Business Manager; you are a credible and assured networker able to build effective and profitable relationships with key stakeholders.
• Preferably, you have expertise in the light commercial vehicle market or contract hire sector — while it is a useful starting point for a New Business Manager to know what we do and our marketplace, it’s much more important to us to see your ability to take responsibility for your own performance and your desire to be successful.
