Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking a Network Engineer for London, on a contract basis two days per week at a client site in the insurance sector.

You will design secure network zones, enforce firewall policies, monitor traffic, mitigate risks and work with security teams to support business applications and audit network boundaries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Strong TCP/IP networking, routing/switching, firewall know-how.
• Expertise in network segmentation and security principles.

Responsabilités

• Monitor data flow to ensure policies don’t impact business apps.

Network Engineer wanted - London 2 days per week. This contract role will be working for a large IT company whilst being based on their clients site who are within the insurance sector.

Day rate of £500 - £520 per day via Umbrella inside IR35

Summary

• Design: Create secure network zones using VLANs, subnets, and software-defined networking (SDN).
• Policy Enforcement: Write and manage firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and micro-segmentation policies.
• Traffic Analysis: Monitor data flow to ensure security policies do not break business applications.
• Risk Mitigation: Isolate critical assets, IoT devices, and legacy systems from the main corporate network.
• Collaboration: Work with security teams to respond to incidents and audit network boundaries.

Essential

• 5+ years' experience in enterprise network engineering.
• Strong understanding of:
  • TCP/IP networking
  • Routing and switching
  • Firewall technologies
  • Network segmentation and security principles
  • Application connectivity and traffic analysis
• Experience performing application dependency mapping and topology analysis.
• Experience producing low-level and high-level network designs.
• Experience planning and executing enterprise infrastructure changes.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
