Job summary

ARM is seeking a Network Engineer for a London-based contract role, working 2 days per week on client sites in the insurance sector.

The role focuses on designing secure network zones, enforcing firewall policies, analyzing traffic, and mitigating risks across critical assets and legacy systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
• Experience with network segmentation and security principles.
• Ability to map applications, analyze traffic and dependencies.
• Experience creating both low-level and high-level network designs.

Responsibilities

• Design secure network zones using VLANs, subnets and SDN.
• Write and manage firewall rules, ACLs and micro-segmentation policies.
• Monitor traffic and ensure security policies do not disrupt business apps.
• Isolate critical assets and legacy devices from the main network.
• Collaborate with security teams to respond to incidents and audit boundaries.

Job description

Network Engineer wanted - London 2 days per week. This contract role will be working for a large IT company whilst being based on their clients site who are within the insurance sector.

Day rate of £500 - £520 per day via Umbrella inside IR35

Summary

• Design: Create secure network zones using VLANs, subnets, and software-defined networking (SDN).
• Policy Enforcement: Write and manage firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and micro-segmentation policies.
• Traffic Analysis: Monitor data flow to ensure security policies do not break business applications.
• Risk Mitigation: Isolate critical assets, IoT devices, and legacy systems from the main corporate network.
• Collaboration: Work with security teams to respond to incidents and audit network boundaries.

Essential

• 5+ years' experience in enterprise network engineering.
• Strong understanding of:
