Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd. is seeking a Network Engineer to work on-site in London on a contract basis, two days per week, for an IT company in the insurance sector.

You will design secure network zones, enforce firewall rules, analyze traffic, and collaborate with security teams to respond to incidents. The role focuses on enterprise networking, SDN, and risk mitigation, with a day rate of £500–£520 via Umbrella inside IR35.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing and switching, firewall technologies, network segmentation and security principles.
• Experience mapping application dependencies and topology.
• Experience producing network designs (low-level and high-level).
• Experience planning enterprise infrastructure changes.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design secure network zones using VLANs, subnets, and SDN.
• Policy enforcement: write and manage firewall rules, ACLs, and micro-segmentation policies.
• Traffic analysis to ensure policies do not impact business applications.
• Risk mitigation by isolating critical assets, IoT, and legacy systems.
• Collaborate with security teams to respond to incidents and audit network boundaries.
