Job summary

National Grid plc is seeking a Power System Engineer in Warwick, with a focus on Net Zero planning. The role involves supporting strategic transmission studies, network capability assessments, and engineering analysis to enable Net Zero delivery.

You will perform power system studies, model development, and analytical work alongside senior engineers, with hybrid working options from the Warwick office.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems.
• Good understanding of power system fundamentals and modelling.
• Experience with PowerFactory, PSSE, PSCAD, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic network planning and capability assessment studies.
• Carry out power system simulations and analysis to evaluate transmission performance.
• Contribute to boundary capability studies and network transfer assessments.
• Assess impacts of generation and demand developments on the transmission network.
• Support development and evaluation of network reinforcement and non-network solutions.
• Maintain and improve power system models used in planning studies.
