Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Power System Engineer to join the Net Zero Engineering team in Warwick with flexible hybrid working options. You will work on strategic planning studies, network capability assessments and engineering analysis to enable Net Zero delivery, while developing expertise in transmission planning and system modelling.

You will contribute to simulations, boundary studies and network transfer assessments, and support the development of network reinforcement and non-network

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of power system fundamentals and modelling.
• Proven ability to interpret technical requirements and deliver analyses.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic network planning and capability assessment studies.
• Carry out power system simulations and analysis of transmission performance.
• Contribute to boundary capability studies and network transfer assessments.
• Assess impact of future generation and demand developments.
• Support development and evaluation of network reinforcement and non-network solutions.
• Maintain and improve power system models used in planning studies.
• Develop analytical tools, scripts and automated workflows.
• Prepare technical reports and study documentation.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
