Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Environmental Consultant to join our Environmental and Sustainability Services team. You will lead and coordinate environmental appraisals and EIA work on major infrastructure projects, collaborating with engineers, planners and sustainability specialists to deliver robust planning outcomes.

You will navigate UK legislation, manage client expectations, and contribute to place-based solutions that support net zero commitments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EIA and UK legislation; DCO scheme experience beneficial.
• Track record in project/construction environmental management on large infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel away from home base as needed.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Excellent IT skills and self-starting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead scoping, preparation and delivery of environmental appraisals and EIA.
• Coordinate environmental, social and sustainability specialists within projects.
• Support project teams in EIA processes, risk management and environmental delivery.
• Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to address environmental concerns.
