Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Environmental Consultant to work within a multi-disciplinary team, guiding environmental appraisals from feasibility to EIA for planning applications across major infrastructure. You will support project teams, lead environmental deliverables, and liaise with clients and regulators.

You will contribute to integrating sustainability into design, helping clients meet net-zero targets, and be flexible for site visits across the UK within a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Academic qualifications or professional credentials relevant to environmental consultancy.
• Working towards chartership with a recognised body.
• Knowledge of EIA and UK legislation; DCO experience is a plus.
• Track record in environmental management on major infrastructure projects.
• Flexible approach and willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong written and spoken communication; IT proficiency.
• Proactive, self-starting and able to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate environmental appraisals and EIA as part of planning applications.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners and sustainability specialists in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Coordinate scoping, delivery of environmental deliverables and risk management.
• Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to address environmental concerns.
• Integrate sustainability into design to support net-zero commitments.
