Job summary

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Neonatal Practice Educator to lead and shape education across neonatal services. The role combines clinical expertise with education, leadership and service development to support the regional neonatal network.

You will develop education plans, nurture career development for nurses and multi-disciplinary teams, and drive governance and patient safety through evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver neonatal education, training and simulation programmes.
• Support development of newly qualified nurses, students and experienced practitioners.
• Drive clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
• Champion patient safety, governance and professional standards.
• Influence service development and workforce transformation across neonatal care.
• Act as a clinical leader and expert resource for colleagues across the Trust.
• Help shape the next generation of neonatal professionals.
• Develop and deliver education plans, competency based training programmes and support activities relating to clinical nurse education, training and development, and multi professional team development.
• Collect, evaluate and analyse data, and make judgements on the clinical implications of the evidence, applying this to development programmes.
• Develop and present relevant reports and presentations on essential and role specific training performance and training needs analysis for forward planning.
• Work cross site and across the perinatal and paediatric services.
• Support the regional provision of nurse education within the neonatal network.
• Participate in Trust wide neonatal life support training and updates.
